Get to Know Me

Hi there, I’m Emile Janssens.

Over the course of the past ten years, I’ve spend my time in the world of project management, process optimization, and management consulting - with a focus on sustainable solutions and operational excellence. My work has taken me across multiple industries and all across the globe, and I’ve had the opportunity to lead a wide range of projects that make a real, positive impact.

Recently, I’ve started EGJ Advies & Beheer, and I’m currently working with WEB Bonaire, the island’s water and electricity company, helping them optimize their processes, and support their teams to deliver better results. It’s a fantastic project that allows me to bring my experience to the table while working in such a unique and dynamic environment on Bonaire in the Caribbean Netherlands.

Before starting on my own, I was Project Director at Novar (formerly Solarfields), where I led the development of sustainable energy projects, including solar parks and battery storage systems. I’ve also spent time at Siemens, managing international teams and projects focused on modernizing harbor cranes with cutting-edge automation technologies, ensuring projects stayed on track and on budget.

Before that, I had the privilege of contributing to The Ocean Cleanup during its early operational roll-out, helping bring the Interceptor™ technology to life in rivers around the world to fight plastic pollution. That project was truly rewarding, blending innovation with a deep sense of purpose – especially after working in the offshore industry for almost 5 years.

Some 10 years ago, I started my career at Ampelmann, a company known for its innovative offshore access solutions. I worked in various roles, including Operations Engineer and Lead Maintenance, overseeing Ampelmann systems across North and South America. My job was to ensure our systems worked seamlessly in some of the most challenging environments, handling everything from technical support to maintenance and complex logistics activities.

What drives me is the challenge of making complex systems work more efficiently, to bring together diverse teams to solve problems, and to always look for ways to improve how we do things. I’m passionate about delivering projects that not only meet business goals but also have a positive impact on the environment and society.
